Took place in Chicago (Illinois – USA), in 30 September 2014, the award ceremony of the 20th edition of the Global Awards for Excellence in BPM and Workflow, a prestigious award co-sponsored by WfMC (Workflow Management Coalition) and The initiative awards excellence projects in the field of technological innovation in process management within organizations.
Great protagonist of this event, and the only Italian company to be present, was EKA Srl a consulting company and spinoff of the University of Salento, which for the second year after winning in 2011, was awarded in this edition of 2014 with the project developed at GE Avio srl, a leader in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for civil and military aviation. The award-winning project was aimed at modernizing the management and dissemination of company quality procedures. The platform is built in a multilanguage web-based solution developed using the technology of Signavio GmbH that enables collaborative modeling and optimization of business processes according to international standard BPMN 2.0.

All projects submitted to the competition have been evaluated by a panel of experts from research and industry in the field of Business Process Management (BPM), by assigning 15 different evaluation criteria in the categories innovation, implementation and impact on the company, with the aim of identifying the project that represents excellence in the use of BPM.
